Fried Crispy Prawns Wrapped in Egg Noodles Recipe

This stylish dish is so YUMMY from my favorite prawns!!! I love this variation- Fried Crispy Prawns wrapped in Egg Noodles with a rice wine dipping sauce. The tantalizing sweet and spicy dipping sauce is perfectly paired with the crunchy and tasty prawns wrapped in egg noodles….Unbelievably mouthwatering and so easy to make! This delicious meal is great served as a starter and also ideal for a dinner party menu.

  • Yellowtail white prawns —- 10 pieces
  • Spring roll sheets —- 100g
  • Egg noodles —- 50g
  • Coriander root —- 1 teaspoon
  • White pepper powder — 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic clove— 1 teaspoon
  • Soya sauce —- 2-3 teaspoon
  • Rice flour with water —- 3-4 tablespoon

  • Salt — as per taste
  • Cooking oil —- as per needed, for deep frying

For the dipping sauce:  

  • Rice wine vinegar—- 1/3 cup
  • Caster sugar —- 3 tablespoons
  • Red bird’s eye Chile —- 1 (very thinly sliced)

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes


  1. Clean the white prawns, peel and leave the tail section intact, and then dry with paper towel.
  2. Place coriander root, salt, garlic clove and white pepper powder on the prawns, and then add soy sauce and mix well.
  3. Set aside the marinated prawns with the mixture for almost 30 minutes.
  4. Cook the egg noodles in a large pan of boiling water according to packet instruction. Make it well until tender, then rinse under cold water and drain.
  5. Cut spring roll sheet in the square shape of 5 inches.
  6. Wrap marinated prawns with spring roll sheet one by one and tight with noodles to secure together the prawn and noodles.
  7. Deep fry the prawns for 2-3 minutes, until noodles are golden brown.
  8. Serve tasty prawns with rice wine dipping sauce. So, Yummy!!!!!

Directions for Dipping Sauce:

  1. Place the vinegar and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to the boil.
  2. Stir well until the sugar dissolves, and remove it from the heat.
  3. Add the sliced chili and keep it in the refrigerator to cool completely.
