Naturally, your stomach is full of healthy acid which helps break down food and offers protection to your GI tract from infections. But, excess stomach acid can become a cause of heartburn and many other diseases. For example, frequent heartburn can lead to gastroesophageal disease which may be harmful for your esophagus and throat. To prevent these problems, reducing excess stomach acid is the best way.
