Baba Ganoush Recipe – Learn How to Make This Smoky Dip

Baba Ganoush is a smoky and creamy eggplant dip blended with tahini, lemon juice and capsicums. This lip-smacking eggplant dip is a much-loved on many tables across the Middle East. A lot of restaurants serve this mouth-watering dish as an appetizer in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Generally, People love to eat this yummy meal with pita bread, pita chips or vegetables.

Making this Baba Ganoush recipe at home is so simple and easy. Just keep the ingredients in mind and follow the directions:

Ingredients:

  • Eggplants —- 3 ( about 1 kg)

  • Tahini —- 1 cup
  • Green capsicum —- ½, finely chopped
  • Yellow capsicum —- ½, finely chopped
  • Red capsicum —- ½, finely chopped
  • White onion —- 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic cloves —- 4, minced
  • Pinch of Ground Cumin
  • Tomato —– 1, chopped and seeds removed
  • Flat-leaf parsley —-2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Mint —- 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Pomegranate seeds —– 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice —– ¼ cup
  • Olive oil —- 100 ml
  • Salt —– as per taste
  • Pita bread/chips —- to serve

Servings: 8-10

Preparation Time: 40 Minutes

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F – 400°F (over medium-high heat). Lightly brush some oil on a baking sheet.
  2. Place eggplants on this sheet. By using a fork, make some holes in the eggplants’ skin. Bake or roast them for 30-40 minutes, turning occasionally, or until tender. Remove it from oven and pour into a large bowl to cool completely.
  3. Remove the skin of eggplants and discard the seeds. Place them in a food processor. Also, add tahini, onion and all the remaining ingredients except parsley, mint and pita bread into the processor. Blend the mixture and make a coarse paste. You can add some water to blend the mixture properly.
  4. Take a serving bowl and transfer this mixture to Sprinkle olive oil and season with parsley and mint leaves.
  5. Serve this Delicious Baba Ganoush with Pita bread or chips.
