Delicious Fish Taco Recipe is Here

Taco is one of the most popular traditional Mexican dishes made from a wheat tortilla or corn and stuffed with any filling. These folded tortillas can be stuffed with a variety of filling, such as beef, chicken, vegetables, and seafood, etc. Here is a delicious fish taco recipe which belongs to Baja California, the northernmost state of Mexico. The authentic fish taco was accompanied by stuffing the deep-fried fish. But this recipe is made with sautéed fish which is a fresh and scrumptious version of a fish taco. This dish is also garnished with tomatoes, cabbage, taco sauce and lime juice that can double the deliciousness of this dish.

  • White fish fillet —– 1 lb (cut into 1-inch pieces)

  • Sour cream —- 1⁄2 cup
  • Mayonnaise —– 1⁄2 cup
  • Fresh cilantro —— 1⁄4 cup, chopped
  • Taco seasoning mix —– 1 package, divided
  • Vegetable oil —– 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice —– 2 tablespoons
  • Taco shells —- 1 (12 counts) package, warmed (OR)
  • Flour tortillas —– 1 (12 counts) package


  • Chopped tomatoes
  • Shredded cabbage
  • Taco Sauce
  • lime juice

Servings: 6

Preparation Time: 30 Minutes


  1. In a small bowl, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, cilantro and taco seasoning mix.
  2. Add fish to this mixture and let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in deep-fryer over medium heat.
  4. Place marinated fish in the oil and simmer, constantly stirring, over medium-high heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until the fish pieces are easily tested with a fork.
  5. Then, lightly fry the tortillas and remove from the oil.
  6. Fill these tortillas with sautéed fish mixture.
  7. Top with chopped tomatoes and cabbage, and drizzle taco sauce and lime juice over the taco.
