My today’s recipe is inspired by lip-smacking salsa. Salsa is a delicious food staple in any decent Mexican dining establishment. This flavorful and nutritious Mexican sauce is a popular one, served by lots of restaurants all over the world. Here, I’m going to tell you how to cook yummy salsa in restaurant-style. This salsa recipe is easy to make and simple, you just need chopped tomatoes, onions, and seasonings.

This fresh and healthy tomato salsa recipe is perfect for the summer as you can use it as a dip for Mexican corn chips or as a side dish. It can also be a great accompaniment to grilled chicken and fish and ideally served with Fajitas or Falafel wraps. Ingredients

  • Fresh Tomatoes —- 1 can, chopped
  • Green chilies —— 1 can
  • Whole canned tomatoes with the juice —- 1 can
  • Jalapenos —- 4 teaspoons (canned, diced, not pickled)
  • Yellow onion —– 1⁄4 cup (diced)
  • Garlic salt —- 1⁄2-3⁄4 teaspoon
  • Cumin —– 1⁄2 teaspoon
  • Sugar —– 1⁄4 teaspoon

Yields: 32

Preparation Time: 15 Minutes

Directions:

  1. Place onions, green chilies and jalapenos in a food process and blend them for just a few minutes.
  2. Add both cans of tomatoes, sugar, cumin and salt. Process them correctly until they are mixed but do not puree.
  3. Pour this mixture into a covered container and chill about 4-5 hours.
  4. A couple of hours of chilling will help blend and enrich the flavor.
  5. Serve this refreshing salsa with your favorite thin corn tortilla chips. It’s incredibly yummy and lip-smacking!!
