Middle Eastern Cumin Meatballs Recipe

Thinking about your lunch or dinner? Well, here is a cumin meatballs recipe. These meatballs are prepared in the Middle Eastern style, therefore, they have Middle Eastern culinary deliciousness. These delectable meatballs are made with ground meat, cumin, paprika, garlic, and dropped into the amazing aromatic tomato sauce. This saucy dish is completely healthful because meatballs are rich in garlic and cumin. Traditionally, they are perfect served over bulgur, while you can serve it with brown rice or shirataki noodles.

This meatballs recipe is quick and very easy to make. So must try it and enjoy a scrumptious and tasteful dish!!


For Meatballs:

  • Lean ground beef —- 1 1/2 pounds
  • Egg —- 1
  • Minced garlic —- 2 tablespoons
  • Breadcrumbs —– 1/4 cup

  • Cumin —- 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sweet Paprika —- ½ teaspoon
  • Salt —– to taste
  • Black pepper —– to taste
  • Vegetable oil —– 3 tablespoons
  • Mint leaves for garnishing
  • Cilantro for garnishing

For Tomato Sauce:

  • Tomato paste —– 3 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice —– 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder —– 1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Water —– 1 1/2 cups

Servings: 4

Preparation Time: Approximately 35 minutes


  1. Take a large deep bowl and combine the ground beef, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs and all spices. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Make 20 equal egg-sized balls from the mixture and set aside.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. Place the meatballs and cook them until firm and browned on all sides, almost 10 minutes. Remove meatballs from the pan and keep aside.
  4. In a saucepan, add water, and bring to boil over high heat.
  5. Add tomato paste, garlic powder, lemon juice, salt and pepper and simmer, stir continuously.
  6. When the sauce is almost cooked, low the heat and add cooked meatballs. Simmer them in the tomato sauce until they are completely cooked, 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. Pour these Delicious meatballs into a deep serving plate, garnish it with mint leaves and cilantro, and serve with brown rice or noodles. Extremely tasty and mouthwatering!!
